If God said, " I created you, your parents, and your grand parents", would it mean he created me first?
If Ex muslims were that intelligent, they wouldn't be Ex.

ثم استوى إلى السماء، the key word is إلى meaning to : so it was already there

I personally think there is no problem. If the creator of the heaven and the earth says that the things of the earth are created before segmentation of haeven, it is that way. There is no need to question that. Even a few decades ago we thought sun is stationary, while quran said otherwise. But now we know sun is orbiting the galatic center blackhole. We thought sun and moon "moves" on empty space, while quran said celestial bodies "swims". And I was even made mockery due this. Yet, now we know of gravitational wave and know that celestial bodies ride on these gravitaional wave in the space time fabric. You see the pattern here... Our good science changes faster than we change cloth. So, it is better to not fit quran to science but to fit science to quran.

Simply put, don't do dawah with " scientific Miracles " because they're subject to interpretation

[It is He who created for you
all that is in the earth,
then He turned to the heaven,
and fashioned it into seven heavens,
and He has knowledge of all things.](2:29)
i dont know why people should find this as unscientific bcz it clearly says {then he turned towards heaven} indicating that heaven or universe is already in existence ..!

(ثم استوى إلى السماء)
- "إلى"
implies that the heaven already have existed when the action استوى had been committed...
It doesn't say God created the heaven (السماء). As an Arab I haven't had any issue comprehending that, thought to be sincere..there are some athiest Arab (ignorants) whom sadly have such misconceptions... It's shameful that a western knowledgeable person is more aware and conscious of our language.
Wassalamu alaikum warahmatu lahi ta'ala wa barakatuhu.

Thank you for making this video. A guy on YT was asking me these difficult questions about Quran but I don't have so much knowledge. It just annoys me. I told him whatever the Quran say is right and I don't care what science says. Because I have seen that even science changes with time as new facts come to light.

Excellent series addressing misconceptions about the Quran and hopefully it will also deal and cover (in the future) those misconceptions about certain hadiths that certain apologists use to attack Islam.

To my understanding, the initial creation (or say step #0) was actually simultaneous. Because Quran alludes to the fact that universe and earthly matter all were a single mass/entity which is interestingly in-line with Scientific model of early universe (inflationary cosmology):

"Did the unbelievers not realize that the heavens and the earth were one solid mass, then We tore them apart" (21 : 30)

So is it valid to say that cosmologically, the heavens started forming before the earth and it continued to form after the earth has emerged? In this sense, it is valid to refer to the formation of the heavens before as well as after the earth. That’s what the different ayas refer to. Right? The Ayas referring to heaven formation after the earth indicate a continuation rather than a start.

Great talk. Al qurtubi's logic makes more sense to me

One can also add - to the points in the video - that the verse in baqarah doesn’t talk about the creation of the earth itself but the things on the earth. Also, taswiyah seems to come after khalq (الذي خلق فسوى), so the سماء was already there before it was proportioned as seven.
