BG3: The EASIEST Way To Steal!

This is probably the easiest and (cheesiest) way of stealing anything you want from traders in Baldur's Gate 3. It is perfectly safe and cannot fail because you have as much time to steal as you like and can stop whenever you like!

Or until it gets fixed (fixed in patch 7 according to reply): -sell a container to a vendor, go to barter and open aforementioned container, drag the items you want from the vendor into it. When you've cheated enough, open another container in your own inventory and drag the items gathered to the icon above the opened container, and go on your merry way. Thus no rolls required or angry merchants chasing you out of town.-

Oh- I make them like me (100% attitude), then cast Feign Death on them, cast some cover like fog or darkness with a scroll and then rob them uninhibited in Turn Based Mode. Just need to succeed a few rolls. Get Guidance, and have Gloves of Thievery for advantage on slight of hand. I can steal most of their inventory in 1 turn usually. 😅

Important: Don't do it in turn-based mode! Otherwise, there'll be a saving through against Hold Person every turn, and you need "next turn" after a failed pickpocket, which will happen at some point for everything >1000 gold (DC30 check), even with +15 Sleight of Hand, Advantage and Guidance. At least in HM.

actually the best way steal is to sell bag and put everything you need in it. then you can level up to refresh merchent's inventory and put everything in the bag. do it again and again and again and again and again and again. then steal it or take it by force (with non-lethal atacks)

I use the bag tricks to just take their inventory. It's even faster and cheesier.

yk i kinda did a similar thing in stealth with the cat familiar (which is also the "minor illusion" i think)
I was in act one in the hag lair and i didn't wanted to attack the hag minions, so i a summond the cat familiar buffed it with "enchanted leap" and "sanctuary"
And than made it draw the minions attention and got them stuck in combat so my party could stealth behind them

Also wait when your characters are all levelled up and do that over and over. Each time you level up a character, his inventory replenishes, so you can make loads lol

Wouldn’t call it cheating, but definitely an exploit. Still useful, and i’ve not seen anyone else mentioning this before. Can quickly turn an Honor mode run quite dishonorable.
