Thank you! I kept my toddler at home till he was 2yrs8months because it just felt wrong to leave him somewhere other than by my side. He then went into a great preschool but we took him out after 4months. I could tell he was doing better at home but everyone tells you differently. I’m so glad I stuck to my mama gut!

Thanks for your honesty. I have a 3 year old and although I have stayed home with her all those years I’ve been a little distracted by not having a traditional job to put our lives on track. I did go to school in the meantime but now I’m done. I hate the thought of leaving her for hours it just doesn’t feel right. 😢 she’ll be away from me all day and I just can’t. I also have 2 older girls who protest against me working all day. It makes me sad but she’s getting older. I hope I work this out. This gives me optimism though thank you.

Except that housing, groceries, etc are so expensivve and unless the Dad makes a lot of money to cover all those bills then how does the family survive? The fact is it is an unfortunate neccesity for most couples in the USA that both Mom and Dad must work. Especially when their are no family members to extend help with childcare. The flaw in your assertion is the burden of implied guilt. Maybe you are in a better position financially and can offer that to your wife. But you are the exception.

Kids go to daycare because both parents need to work. Another person who had it easier financially when they were young, completely ignoring the reality of today’s cost of living
