Thank you for explaining this. Gauge was never explained to me before so, I have never understood gauge. I never used gauge because of not understanding it. Now I know why my sweaters never fit.

I have only dabbled in scarves and hats as for following patterns. I just purchased a couple of your patterns to try out, and I’m glad I found this video. I never thought about how important gauge would be when making clothing. This will save me from ruining a couple summer sweaters, because I’m a tight crocheter-due to making a lot of amigurumi dolls, but a loose knitter-because I’m just awkward. I’m looking forward to broadening my horizons with your adorable size 3 seafoam green and coral summer sweaters. Thank you as always for making the patterns for plus sized people. Your knowledge and talent are truly a blessing and I’m thankful I found your channel 🥳🙌

Omgosh, you answered so my question I had. I have figured out why my projects are different than the pattern. I'm a very tight crocheter. So that explains so much. Thank you for this video.

Thank you for sharing! I've always struggled with gauge. Vertically I'll be on point, but horizontally I'm always too short (clearly a tight crocheter). Just recently learned about extended stiches, and that's helped a bunch!

How do you make your gauge? Just like you do when you start crocheting you project?

I have a question. Is the gauge also used to get the total measurement of the project? Say, if I’m making a skirt, do I need to get the gauge for a person’s measurement?

I have a question about gauage if the pattern is not in single or double but in a example v st do you have to do a swatch in that st to get gauge?

Hi there, total newbie here! So to check gauge I should do a 4x4 piece and block it? And will this mean that this yarn is wasted for my project?

I'm having a problem with obtaining the width but I have the height, any suggestions?
