I listened to "Hillbilly Elegy" on audiobook. It was excellent, very interesting, so much so, that I finished the entire thing in a weekend (Sat & Sun). Big credit to JD Vance for telling his story

I just watched his biopic on Netflix due to his nomination as Trump's running mate. I really appreciated how the film reclaimed the concept of the American Dream. I honestly never realized before watching this movie how much the concept has been hijacked by the left to only mean prosperity for immigrants.

This was one of the books and movies that were liked by most of the audience and hated by the elite critics because it reminded us that there are a lot of white people devoid of the white privilege they are supposed to have, have some of the same problems with drugs and incarceration that people of other colors (but same class) go through, in other words, announcing the inconvenient truth that CLASS and not RACE determines who gets ahead.
