Yoga Mudra for Increasing Self Confidence | Vajra Mudra

Today I'm going to teach you a mudra for increasing self-confidence. This is the yoga mudra called Vajra Mudra for self-confidence and self-esteem.

Mudras are purposeful ways of placing your body to influence how energy flows. Sometimes mudras are practiced with the face, but most often, they're simple hand gestures. By placing the hands together, the sensory and motor nerves in the fingers awaken subtle energy — allowing you to become more present in your mind, body and spirit.

Practicing yoga for building self-confidence is a lot different than other strategies you may have tried. With mudra, we're not manufacturing something new, or calling in something outside of us.

Instead you'll awaken the inherent quality that lies within you — the capacity to have deep confidence in yourself so you can authentically live your purpose in the world.

In Sanskrit, Vajra Mudra can translate two ways: diamond and thunderbolt. And when you think of the qualities of those two things, a diamond is indestructible and a thunderbolt is a powerful force — this is the essence of strong self-confidence, an indestructible, powerful force. Vajra Mudra balances your own personal power at the third chakra, the solar plexus.

Let's practice the mudra together along with a brief guided meditation for confidence.

As you finish up the practice, tag me on Instagram @carenbaginski so I can see your practice space and what props you used.

Great calm voice and performance... Does this mudra touch the solar plexus point (area) would it have better impact? What is the best mudra for self-control and for self- organize?

Well done. Felt warmth girdle around waist. Saw image of intersecting ovals from each arm space and the mudra space. Beautiful voice, calm tempo, open and inviting spirit.

Great video! Can this mudra be held for longer if desired? If so what's the maximum time it should be held?

When I research the vajra mudra i typically see 3 variations: This more diamond pointed on as you have shown, single pointed finger either 1 hand or both resting on the lap, or single upright pointed finger being clasped by the other hand. What is the difference? Thank you.
