Pain, dominance, cancer, pedophilia, bullying, slavery etc. These are all things that a good god would not allow in a benevolent plan

Evil is the product of free will. Evil is simply man's will of doing things that benefit's himself which is detrimental to others. If evil doesn't exist then free will also doesn't exist. The only way to remove evil is to remove free will and in such a case we become organic "robots".

He gave us free will, but we didn't use it wisely, and now we pay the consequences for our sins. This is actually the first step to understanding the gospel. It shows the magnitude of rebelling against what God has made good and it shows why we need a Savior.

It's a cop-out, that is all it is. It is so pure, it has been refined to the highest degree of cop-outedness. It's worse than the answer, "Not to the best of my recollection, " when a person is testifying. It is worse than, "I have to wash my hair" to decline a date. If you look up, "Give an example of 'cop-out', " this will be the answer.

I've said it a million times...every event, big or small, starts a chain of events that, as far as anyone can tell, may be infinite...and every event in that chain starts a new chain. That's the nature of reality. In these chains will be good events and awful ones, serious or insignificant. We can't possibly know the ultimate outcome of ANYTHING. Does that solve the problem of evil? NO. Because any god capable of knowing all possible outcomes, could also ensure that none of those outcomes are evil...and any god that would willingly allow the evil outcomes, IS EVIL. The gift of free will doesn't excuse any god from allowing so much suffering to exist.

Because god has a plan is such a compelling argument

If there WAS actually a god and he/she/it was SOOO good like these religious people CLAIM he/she/it is, then evil would NOT be allowed.

God itself admits that it created evil so there is no problem with evil short of what each individual deems as to what evil is specifically. If evil was a real thing, everyone would know exactly what evil was on all levels no matter what the specifics of the situation was.

Had someone tell me people go through things so they can help others who go through bad things....

So i suffer to help someone else who is suffering? Why not, just ya know, have no one suffer? Seems like a whole lotta needless pain.

If god is fully good(which he isnt according to his own book) then is it not illogical for any evil to exist? Would a fully good being allow evil to exist, and if they did, does that then no longer make them fully good?

So I have this idea: assume God exists and evil is here for some reason, and for some reason he's doing nothing about it. Why? Maybe because there are a bunch of different universes and in each God's level of involvement is different, like it's a bunch of experiments all being run in parallel. Some universes are great, some are terrible, etc. This could explain why we see exactly the behaviour from God that we see. But if we realize this, and that somewhere there's a better universe, the only thing that makes sense for us is to figure out how to move from this universe into a better one. However, that would contaminate the other experiments, and that can't be allowed, so any universe that becomes aware they're part of an experiment would be a failed experiment and terminated. Having now put this idea out there, contaminating this universe, it should cease to exist, bit if you're reading this, that hasn't happened. So either my hypothesis is wrong or God doesn't exist?

God allows many "bad" things to happen for the greater good.

Think about the human civilizations we got from bad things happening, it all had a bigger effect and granted us a bigger "reward."

Suffering isn't necessarily a bad thing, seeing how God uses suffering for the greater good.

Thanks to suffering we we're able to advance in stuff like; cars, technology, science, literature arts, medicine, healthier ways of living/eating.

The premise that suffering is inherently a bad thing is one thing, philosophers would highly debate about, seeing how suffer may seem like a bad thing in the short term, but has an ultimate good in the long term.

And again, the Bible makes it very clear, that God gave Adam and Eve the choice to listen to him, or to disobey him. And they chose the ladder so if you're going to blame someone for the suffering of the universe, At the very bases of things, fundamentally speaking, you'd have to blame humans since we're the ones who weren't satisfied with what God made and sought other things out.

God created a universe in which anything and everything including our free will has the highest possible chance for the most people to willfully come to him and be saved.

A lot of people get saved because they're in terrible circumstances and yet they still know in their heart that this universe isnt random and God exists.

Crying about it and blaming it on God doesn't help anything.

Allow me to help.
There is no such thing as a justification for evil actions. If it was justified, it wouldn't be an evil action.

So...yeah...

_”Why does God allow evil?”_

If God removed all evil, then where would you be?

If God removed all evil, would there also be no sickness and death?

If people lived forever in their miserable, selfish, petty tyrant ways — would that make God the greatest enabler of all time?

i believe evil came from humans mistakes. also, God doesn't describe himself as perfect. people are.

God, before creating the universe; “You know what would be better than just me, being the totality of existence and the totality of existence being perfectly good? I whole fuckton of evil every fucking day!”

Because that’s perfect judgement.

You're mistaking evil for suffering.
Evil/sin is just a by-product of free will god gives us the ability to choose between good and evil.

Suffering is a good thing for humans IN THE LONG RUN. It makes us stronger and overall more appreciative and better people.

I've first hand seen how people who go trough tough time either give up an fail or carry on and end up better.
Suffering is a learning experience, we are still in creation but by our own free will of how we deal with suffering.

The fact that cancer and especially childhood cancer is strong evidence that, either we are not 'created' by a god or that that god is a monster. Take your pick. Either one is a good reason for not worshiping an unknown entity.

evil exists because god would be unfair if he gave us free choice and no choices
