Good job on the selection, but the visual quality left a lot to be desired and did some games a disservice. I'd have included a bonus section including racing modes in the platformers, like the "meaty" kart racing mode in SA2:B (multiple characters, karts, and some stages) - you can literally invite someone over and have vs go-karting matches in that game (which is many reasons why it's the best at-least-3D Sonic games of all time).

I find it ironic that the first racing game Sonic had was with cars since I would say it's the least original and suitable style. But it's interesting to see how many different ones there were, and they changed just as much as the mainline Sonic games, and you can see lots of parallels and tell what state yhe franchise was in at that point when they released. When Drift released, they were tyring to find some footing and didn't know what they doing, so they made a quick low budget title to prolong sales while they were figuring out what to on the Saturn. Meanwhile, R was a step forward in ideas and didn't play safe, but was quite janky and rushed and not so good. Then Riders came out, and that was ambitious and cool and had lots of style and knew what it wanted to be, but lacked intuition and polish and was not well tutorialised, and Zero Gravity then made it way too simple, and then Free Riders had the best tutorial and tracks and character selection but was on the Kinect (it's my favourite though!), and so was arguably very ambitious like 06. Rivals is kinda the same, a bit less style but more polish, and was part of their plan to push out a Sonic game for every single platform at the time. Then All Stars came out where they were starting to play safe, since it was a kart racer aimed more at casuals, and was very intuitive and simple and didn't try too hard as there was no story or style. Transformed simply improved on it in almost every way. Then TSR was very mediocre as it didn't do anything amazing, but wasn't terrible either, just like Forces, mainly poor track and character selection, and no style and originality. And then Crossworlds comes along trying to return to that style and ambition from the glory days that long time fans wanted while still appealing to casuals by going for both worlds, like what Frontiers did. Also, you missed Speed Simulator.

Sonic R & Rivals makes the most sense gameplay wise and should have still continued with a higher budget

Sonic Riders has the most potential for different gameplay mechanics Zero Gravity was peak gameplay and was my favourite out of the First two honestly the less said about Free Rider's the better.

The first two SEGA All-Star's is the most fun not counting Team Sonic Racing I loved playing as other SEGA Characters Bonanza Bros Opa Opa Ages Mee-Mee ect so much so that I wish they didn't drop the SEGA Characters just for the sonic cast we should honestly have both to balance the roster and tracks in crossworlds.

I really wanted a new game with the same idea as Sonic R, see the characters running in different ways on maps that simulate stages and are tracks at the same time, Sonic running on foot, Amy with a car, Shadow on a motorcycle, Jet with his board, Eggman with his "ship", and much more
