Test drove the 4-Tec Drift today and was really impressed with the performance and the handling. I'm a novice drifter and I'm sure many of the "Pros" here have the experiences and engineering background to let me know that there are other Drift car that's much better than Traxxas. But I can assure you that most are missing the point. Traxxas is a family oriented business that gets people out and play with RC's. Yes, there are really great RC's out there, but no company gets more people out to enjoy the hobby than Traxxas. I can see that more people will be visiting the local Drift tracks. For $329, it's a great way to get started on the hobby. Availability of the cars, parts and probably a whole lot of aftermarket products and accessories.

I love my 4tec drift! I only wish it had light buckets. It is a blast to drive and easy for beginners to catch on. Super impressive for Traxxas first drift car.

The fact this was shot at SuperG and they were probably the ones driving these and could hardly maintain smooth tandems shows that there’s some work to be done. This is going to give new people a bad impression on how a true drift chassis should feel and drive. 60° of angle is severely lacking when most chassis are easily achieving 75-80°+ out of the box. Just my immediate impressions and criticisms though.
