MultiCode Wireless Keypad Programming Tutorial

MultiCode 4200 wireless keypad programming tutorial.

In this video I'm going to show how to program this MultiCode wireless keypad into this MultiCode receiver.
Even though the manual states that the keypad retains the programming when changing the battery or when the battery goes dead, this is usually not the case.
Let's look at the dip switches on the receiver.
Here is a close up picture.
The numbers that we will need to program are the ones that are, "on", or depressed at the top here.
This receiver it is set for 2, 4, 6, 7, 8, and 9 on.
These are the numbers that have to be programmed into the keypad.
The default code for the keypad is 1, 2, 3, 4.
Press "radio learn" button twice.
Then the default code 1234.
This light has turned on.
And now enter the dip switch numbers 2, 4, 6, 7, 8, and 9
And press the "radio learn" button.
This light will turn off. Entering the default code 1, 2, 3, 4, will activate the receiver.
This light is connected to the relay so you can see the receiver working.
The lights on the keypad are now flashing.
You will not be able to see them in this video because of the bright lights.
After the access code is entered the keypad lights will begin flashing.
Any button will activate the receiver while the keypad is flashing.
The keypad will flash for approximately 30 seconds.
Pressing a button while it is flashing will start the timer over.
Please keep this in mind while programming, and be patient, or you'll pull out your hair, or hit a frying pan with your face.
Now the keypad is programmed to activate the receiver.

Great vid. Thank you. Note to self 6 months from now: if the unit forgot the Radio code it also forgot the Access code. It's 1234, not the super-secret code you've been using for the last 6 months.

Thanks for the video.  Note to those who do it.  Sometimes the code for the dip switch is backwards.  On mine the box had the word open written on it, but actually that was the close side.  So if it doesn't open try the code opposite.  Good video though thanks

Good vid. Now I know it is ON when it is depressed.
So if I match DIP switches on a new opener with the original opener, the new opener should open a gate as well?

f I take the battery out hold any button for 10 seconds, the unit will reset to default factory setting correct? or does that only reset if i hold the radio learn and access learn together for 10 seconds>? so all it takes for someone to gain access is to just reset the device??

Is it possible to screw it up so badly nothing works? Should I pull the battery out for a while?
