"Sunday Girl"
I know a girl from a lonely street
Cold as ice cream but still as sweet
Dry your eyes Sunday girl
Hey, I saw your guy with a different girl
Looks like he's in another world
Run and hide Sunday girl

Hurry up, hurry up and wait
I say awake all week and still I wait
I got the blues, please come see
What your loving means to me

She can't catch up with the working crowd
The weekend mood and she's feeling proud
Live in dreams Sunday girl

Baby, I would like to go out tonight
If I go with you my folks'll get uptight
Stay at home Sunday girl

Hey, I saw your guy with a different girl
Looks like he's in another world
Run and hide Sunday girl

When I saw you again in the summertime
If your love was as sweet as mine
I could be Sunday's girl

Hurry up, hurry up and wait
I say awake all week and still I wait
I got the blues, please come see
What your loving means to me

Hurry up, hurry up, hurry up and wait
I got the blues, please, please
Please come see, what you do to me
I got the blues.

Debbie was "cool" without TRYING to "act cool". It just came naturally to her. An amazing woman, even to this day. Phenomenal voice. Gorgeous looks. Amazing stage presence. Not too loud and overly flashy or gauche. Dialed-in "just right". 😎👍🏻❤️

Parallel Lines is such a ridiculously great album. Songwriting, performance and production at an elite level. This is my favorite Blondie song, perfection to my ears.

This band is legendary. Most diverse band ever, and they played different types of music stretched out from 60's rocksteady to 80's new wave. Amazing group

Debbie's greatest talent has always been her being hot and cool at the same time. I do love all the contradictions that make up her appeal, she was both an underground and mainstream figure and she was soft at times and hard edged at times and sometimes both at the same time. Quite a persona she portrayed!

One of my favorites from Blondie. Debbie’s voice has never sounded better, than it does in this song. Love her change up at 1:00.

This was at #1 in the UK charts when I was born. I'm having it played at my 40th birthday party next week!

Being in the front row of the Glasgow Apollo in 79 when Blondie were at their peak was an experience I've never forgotten. Debbie was a stunner!!

We were all so lucky to have this as the music of our youth, amazing times. The world seemed like a simpler place back then.

it's interesting how so many people don't make it past her physical looks, because i think that's the genius of this band and what makes them so ahead of their time. one of the most physically beautiful women ever, make her the lead singer, and even name the band after her. all these ways to make you focus on her and her appearance, so when the band is mentioned or you're reminded of them, you immediately think of her.
that way, fans will keep coming back to them because they either love her beauty OR because they love the music OR both. one way or another, they're gonna get ya get ya get ya get ya.

My older sister played this again and again and over and over, and I thought I was gonna die!!!🤣 It's now one of those songs that puts an earworm in your head that reminds you of earlier, happy times! 😊
