When you girls mentioned 'rotan', I believe that kids in school nowadays haven't taste it yet. It's very delicious flavour to begin with.

Mum made an excellent choice in my opinion...

Always respect those that are able to speak and read a second language well.

It is very impressive that you speak so fluently in Mandarin. Your mom was so much a head of her time to send you to a chinese school.

Waaaa, bagus bagus !!! I am an ethnic Chinese and I found it difficult to learn Mandarin myself but Mimi made it. I am full of praise for Malaysians, many of them know a few languages and dialects, wow.

Thank you for the interesting video. My paternal grandfather is Chinese. But it's a shame I can't speak Chinese. I'm trying to learn Mandarin now. Malaysia should only have one school system. Being Malaysian, everybody should know and master the national language, English language as the second language and Mandarin, Tamil, and Arabic could be offered as the third language. There could be other languages for the Borneo island. This way, each of us could at least have the proficiency in three languages and understand others of different ethnics better. Way to go for social inclusion.

As a fellow Malaysian, I feel obligated to correct the term "Malay School" as the only existing Malay School is Malay College Kuala Kangsar, a premier all-boy, all-Malay elite residential school in Perak, Malaysia. The proper term would be "Sekolah Kebangsaan" or "National School".
