Algebra Essentials, Lesson 2, Solving Two-Step Equations

A strong foundation in the symbolic "language" of algebra along with the concepts of simplifying and solving are very important to the GED® Math Test and for college. Algebra Essentials provides that foundation for struggling students by focusing deeply on algebraic reasoning.

In the second lesson, Solving Two-Step Equations, we'll review the difference between simplifying and solving, review the concept of the order of operations and then apply both concepts as we practice solving two-step equations. Includes beginning, experienced, and advanced level examples.

This video is great but why is the version of this video from 6 years ago on the website instead of this one?

Following rules does make the simplifying/solving process a lot easier, but I do have a question. Do you have to flip the reciprocal in example 13? When you did it, it confused me, so I was curious if you could get the same answer without flipping it.

This helped me so much to understand the differences between solving and simplifying so much I feel much more confident.

I'm doing the experienced practice of solving two-step equations on your website, and problems Number 11 and 23 Don't appear to be the same sorts of problems we were doing in the vid. I'm not getting the right answers...
