I love how Jonathan Young makes a cover awsome by doing it his own way while still delivering as much of the same emotions as the original. That´s why he is one of very few cover artists that I listen to regularly. Amazing job!

there was a girl I knew, named Ali. she had a hard life from the very start, and fell into drugs and alcohol, but was willing to accept help. I helped her see past all the noise and find a better way to live. she ended up moving away, and ended up dying of an overdose. this was her favorite song, and I remember trying to learn it so I could sing it to her. I know it's not my fault, but I find myself thinking that it is. I wish I could have begged her to stay. I couldn't be there to help her. it eats at me sometimes.

As silly as it sounds, song's like this helped me through the hardest part of my teenage years, I struggled so a lot with depression and self harm. Music like this somehow helped me keep myself safe and alive, so hearing it again and so well done has honestly brought me to tears. Try not to compare covers to the original so much. The original will always be amazing, however, this is a cover. Look at it as its own thing rather than an imitation. Once you get passed that, you can really appreciate how good the cover actually is. I find it really well done, and I also feel like he really threw his heart into it. Just a bit of advice coming from a huge Three Days Grace AND Jonathan Young fan.

I actually began to cry listening to this cover. It has been a long time but back in high school I used to blare this album in my room and contemplate whether or not life had any meaning and, more often than not, I would cause self harm.
This song took me back in many ways. The old white scars seemed to ache at the memory. I could almost hear the ghosts of screams and arguments that I have not heard in nearly a decade.
But-
This cover made me finally think back on how I completely took this song all out of context. I lived between those lines long ago and survived. And if I can continue on, you can too. Whoever is reading this out there, it really is never too late.
