Sushi Belt is Better.

00:00 Did you know that in Factorio, you should build sushi belts?
00:03 If you are sane person you probably use belts to transport one or two items at the time.
00:07 However you shouldn’t limit yourself to only 2 items at the time.
00:11 With some creativity you can put as many items on single belts as you wish.
00:16 You can build it easier way with splitters adding new items to a sushi belt.
00:20 Or if you are proficient at circuits, you can use them to balance your sushi.
00:25 It’s good to use this strategy with items which are need in small quantity.
00:29 Like resources need to craft a blue science.
00:31 However the best use for sushi is in your labs,
00:34 since you need to provide only one belt with all the science.
00:37 Whatever you do, just don’t sushi belt your furnaces since the…

This is a short Factorio tutorial or guide. You can find some useful tips for your Factorio speedrun and death world game. Advance topics like trains blueprints circuit network will be explained in a few seconds. I hope this series will work great as a trailer and review for Factorio. I will also try to keep it funny in a meme way.

Why would I need sushi belts, when I have car belts?

Thing is, sushi belts work fine... until one of the things in it become backed up. This usually happened because you produced too little of something in the belt upstream, so it didn't get in, meaning that the whole process downstream became unbalanced. Then everything is backed up and you're sad.

"Don't sushi belt your furnaces"

There was one video I saw where it combined city blocks with Sushi belts. Each block was surrounded by the Sushi belt, and had Splitters along the long faces to make sure they were balanced. Each City block alternated clockwise, counter-clockwise, clockwise, counter-clockwise, etc. Each Block would have one or more Splitters along one edge that preferred to take off the needed materials for that Block, and a Splitter that preferred to take the output from that Block. A circuit was used to make sure that the Block would only output if none of that item was present on the Sushi belt within a certain distance.

It 'worked', but sometimes you would find a White Science mixed in with the Iron Out output and watch it as it slowly got back over to the Science area

I used a sushi belt once in my life and it was to feed the 28 different Science packs of Space Exploration into the labs. Because Requester Warehouses are lame. I still feel like that actually limited my throughput since the belt in question was rather small.

The other day I had a factory idea that is probably around 10% Genius and 90% pure insanity, and it was to built the entire factory alongside a single railtrack with a single continuous train that advances one wagon at a time once every half minute or so. No pipes, no belts, no bots, only direct insertion from and to the train. One of these days I will build it... when the world is ready for it. And I shall call it the Sushi Train.

theoretically you can run an entire factory with only one very long belt

I love the idea of sushi belts and I did a proof of concept to learn how they work, but I just never found a build where I wanted to use them, I kept forgetting about them. I should make a decorative sushi belt somewhere in my base to remind me to try it in my next build.

sushi belts are the closest thing to black magic in factorio

I don't play Factorio, but there are plenty of examples of sushi belts in my world in Satisfactory. Mostly on trucks or trains so you don't have to have one train car or truck & station for each item. In Satisfactory, to make sushi belts work properly you have to add overflow splitters (items get diverted when the priority output gets clogged) to get rid of extra items when something backs up. Simply put, you first sort the sushi belt onto organized belts, then place an overflow splitter on each output belt. Then just run the overflow lines into a resource sink (deletes the items from the belt). I don't know if things that allow this sort of system to work exist in Factorio, but I bet it's still required to keep sushi belts from clogging.

The only way to win Factorio is to not play.

Sushi belting furnaces is probably the best way to do furnaces

I had a 4 wide sushi belt in a ring around my whole factory with resources being added to it automatically when needed. Literally just now deconstructed the whole thing because of too much spaghetti and I ran out of space the branch off it.

You know, you are making me used to watching those short videos everyday...
And when it ends i'll be pretty sad... (and it will end since there isn't thaaat much in factorio to make short videos like this, every day)

Hi, can you please share a blueprint of 0:23 (or point where can I get that forbidden knowledge)) I'd like to understand how it works (I'm new to circuits and dumb)
