President-elect Donald Trump said his administration will soon announce plans to rename of the Gulf of Mexico.

"We're going to be announcing at a future date pretty soon we're going to change – because we do most of the work there and it's ours," Trump said the day after Congress certified his election victory. Crazy president of mine boasting of an authority that he does not have. He can decreet a name change in US territory indeed....but this decreet does not have any weight beyond US borders.
Historical and cultural roots are being overridden.
