Can you make "Rectangle by center point" in this version? Because Inventor 2012 hasn't this comand

Why is it that on all tutorials that i have seen, include for Inventor version i have (2012), whenever i open same template, the '3d model' tab does not show up for me in ribbon?  this is very frustrating.  I just installed Inventor 2012 and basically will not be able to do any tutorials until i resolve this

Okay, I believe something has broke, I can't create 2D sketches like I used to, instead of zooming in to my selected axis and allowing me to edit it, When I press sketch and highlight the plane I want it just highlights the plane, without going into the sketch menu. Any suggestions?
