I think cards that just come out and are worth hundreds is ridiculous, so hopefully this is just the market correcting itself, so we can actually let our collectables, well, gain value from scarcity rather than pure hype and being inflated from scalpers. Hopefully that will push them away from the hobby.

I collect because I like the artworks and the nostalgia it makes me feel. And miss pre covid prices. Could buy so many cards and not be broke after the purchases. Now it feels like cardboard stocks for no reason

Pokemon cards are a luxury, we're headed for a record recession. People will sell what they have to pay the bills saturating the market and therefore lowering price. Simple as that.

Finding these videos super helpful, as someone that collects things but has stayed away from Pokemon cards until now! Now I understand 151 and know it’s cards from my childhood, I’m pretty interested in the best ones from that set. Charizard, Venasaur, Blastoise, Zapdos, Mew, Mewtwo & Pikachu! After some research this week I’ve been tempted to collect the set in Japanese as there all so much cheaper and it’s really only for my own leisure for my collections room. I feel like you can’t fail with a PSA10 Charizard whether it’s English or Japanese. But after seeing this I’m now thinking do I wait until further into the summer and try and get the English set! Convenient time from prices to be “crashing” slightly for me!

Forgot to mention I meant graded PSA10s I don’t buy anything else, no boxes, packs or raws.

More Pokemon Cards are being printed right now than ever before. It doesn't matter if it's in a case or not. Fact is Supply has gone up driving prices down. Just yesterday I found a booster bundle and opened it right up helping drive prices down cause I am one more person with more copies of Reshiram flowting around. Plus with Demand going down due to the toxic atmosphere with scalpers and lack of ease getting into the market, it's driving prices down.

Every day the only card I see staying and still rising, (in my collection) is the Full Art Team Magmas Groudon EX. Which is shocking. To its credit it’s an amazing and unique card in character choice in design.

Working at a game store for many years the one thing I noticed is that every single Pokemon collector thinks of their cards as an investment. trying to make your hobby an investment does not work out because people cut back on hobbies when times are tight. And when things are tight the first thing they're going to liquidate is their hobbies.
