G DATA Total Security. Default settings can create so many problems. It can corrupt registry it can delete boot loader and create so many other problems. It tries to automatically update what it considers out of date software. This can cause paid for products to suddenly be rendered useless. The updates it tries to update ( are ) paid for registered programs and the update requires you to purchase a new program. Meaning you have to delete the updated program and reinstall your registered program with your registered number and password. In system configuration it tries to set programs that it thinks should be started automatically. This can create a spyware problem by keeping on setting up a data collecting component of a program that you selected not to automatically start. You can manually go through G DATA Total Security, switching off these options. And find that they have been reset on the next auto update. This can cause a security problem and lots of frustration having to repair what it has done. Some paid for software only allow you to register the program twice. If G data updates that program twice to another version your older version no longer functions and the newer version requires you to pay for it again.

When you decide you have had enough of G DATA Total Security, and you select uninstall in my case it corrupted registry creating multiple Upperfilters kbdclass. Rendering the USB keyboard useless. I had to use Windows virtual keyboard to log into Windows 7 pro. I then had to use this virtual keyboard to edit the registry. Start > Run > type regedit find Upperfilter kbdclass. And delete Upperfilter leaving kbdclass intact.

G DATA Total Security default settings interferes too much and creates too many problems. Rendering a novice computer users windows system useless. It tries to take control of Windows updates downloading unwanted computer programs like Microsoft opt-in data collection telemetry. Meaning you have to do what computer users do and that is. Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Windows Update\View update history to remove telemetrys opt-out uninstall.

G DATA Total Security, 2 scan engines.... Scan engine B declares it is corrupt because it was updating the signatures in the background with no indication that it was updating when the person or persons log off of Windows. For a security products you can cause so much trouble often far worse than spyware and PUPs Potentially Unwanted Progr
