Tutorial on discourse network analysis with DNA 3.0 and visone

Discourse network analysis is a method for analyzing debates and discourses as networks. It combines qualitative content analysis and network analysis. This video tutorial shows how to install Discourse Network Analyzer (DNA) 3.0, open a sample dataset, code statements by political actors about their policy beliefs, export the data as networks, and analyze these discourse networks and the coalitions emerging in them using visone, a software for network visualization.

Hi Philip, I'm working on my Master's thesis currently and DNA is a great help, as I'm aiming to identify coalitions inside an EU legislation process. One thing I noticed in DNA, which would be great if it can be "fixed" is the following: searching inside documents via the regex search works just fine but if I want to code inside a document whilst keeping the search-window open, it won't work as both the code-window and the search-window can't be opened at the same time. For keyword-based coding it would be great if that actually would be possible.
