Two women, Emmanuelle Charpentier and Jennifer A. Doudna, just won the 2020 #NobelPrize for their work on the genome-editing tool CRISPR. This is the first time women scientists have won the award without a male collaborator.

I'm glad that this was a case where the recipients of the award actually deserve it. I think we can all say that there have been many cases where corporations or organizations have used woman, minority races, LGBTQ+ people, etc in order to appear better than they actually are and to be more progressive. These two scientists have made such a great development in gene editing and I hope that one day, I can maybe get the skinny gene lol. Or maybe just design my children to have it if this technology is available by then.
