Ottawa hockey fans heard booing U.S. national anthem

Hours after U.S. tariffs against Canada were made official, many Ottawa hockey fans were heard booing the American anthem during the Minnesota Wild vs. Senators game. When asked about the booing, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said at a media availability Saturday night that "emotions may run high here and there, particularly around hockey games." As a Canadian I'm disappointed with this reaction...

Canadians have gone from helping us sing our Anthem, to booing it. There are tons of Americans who support ya'll up there, especially those of us who have parents from both sides of the 49th. Do what you need to do to protect yourselves, and we'll do our part down here. Trump thinks you are all just weak and feeble - but he's the one who slithered out of serving his country. Ya'll fought and died in two wars to the tune of millions. The right wing of the US will learn not to confuse politeness for cowardice. Make them learn hard.

As a Dane, is Canada interested in buying Greenland for 1 Canadian dollar? We would give to you for free, but charging 1 Canadian dollar is designed just to annoy Trump. All the waterway between Greenland and Canada would become Canadian and you could charge ships for transit - further annoying Trump.

I'm a very angry Canadian BUT I try to keep in mind that somewhere around, oh, 65% of Americans are good people and worthy of our friendship. They will eventually figure this mess out. Booing someone's anthem might be overkill. Don't stand up, leave your hat on, or something but remember we WILL be friends again someday. I hope.
