My home, but in decline unfortunately. Though the whole area is considered rather upscale, most young people leave to study abroad, making it one of the 'oldest' districts in Turkey with a median age of around 40. Unfortunately one can see the economic struggle: closed storefronts and abandoned building sites. Moreover most luxury brands left the district of Suadiye already. Still, the areas around Bağdat Street are one of the most liveable in all of Istanbul.
