HOW TO DRIVE RUTA 40 ARGENTINA - NOT WHAT WE EXPECTED!

In this video we arrive in the city of Cordoba in Argentina and hire ourselves a car to explore the famous routes in the area. We started off by heading along Ruta 40 with it’s high altitude, crazy long straight road Recta Del Tin Tin and incredible cacti filled scenery.

After a few hours driving and exploring along the way we arrived in the small town of Cachi in the Calchaquí Valley of northwestern Argentina for lunch before jumping back on Ruta 40 where we didn’t get quite as far as we had hoped due to the crazy bumpy roads we had a slight change in plans!

Next time!

Join us next time for part 2 where we wake up in the middle of this other worldly landscape as we finish off Argentinas epic Ruta 40, before finally making it to Cafayate in time for lunch at a beautiful bodega and making the drive back along route 68 with all it’s famous sights along the way.

A British couple from just outside London, England. We got married in 2018 and decided instead of a honeymoon we’d travel the world together. We saved money and travel points, quit our jobs, rented our house out and boarded a one way flight in 2020. We started this Youtube channel to share our experiences with friends, family and anyone who plans to travel to the places we’re visiting. We leave TKT tips/facts in our vlogs and blogs to give information that we wish we’d had before visiting. We hope you find our content fun & useful :)

One of the most beauty landscape in Argentina, and a small part of the route 40 (it is 5.200 km from north to south ). Argentina tourism department should expose its chanel for showing the world the beauties of this country!! Greeting from Bahía Blanca, Argentina !!

That seems like a beautiful drive to make. Great information to help others who want to do it in the future. The landscape, scenery, and wildlife is incredible there - and of course, love seeing all the puppies and dogs around. I'm with Kirsty, I love when breakfast is included, feels like such a bonus!😂

Awesome episode in Salta, Route 40 is the longest in the country, it crosses the country from north to south, it's thousands of kilometers long, it's similar to Route 66 in the USA, greetings

The spectacular views, amazing drone shots, and your vivid emotions were so touching to watch in many ways! It makes us so happy to see you two exploring the least uncovered! Seems like you got lucky with the lunch spot not being busy as you got there earlier. Love how there are tons of cactus 🌵 on your drive! Looking forward to the next adventure!

I love your travel blog. It reminds of the landscape in Death, Valley California and many places in Arizona where cactus are a plenty. My wife and I are thing about traveling to Chile and Argentina.

You guys covered a variety of terrain in this episode.. from the wigglie road..to the straight road..to the bumpy one. The view from the top of the curvy one was incredible though!

It is nice when something seems to not work out..but then a different plan comes together that is even better 😁

I love that you like the north because have to balance with the south. north and south outshine the country and the waterfalls are there to the right.

hello guys, before leaving Argentina you should visit the province of San Juan, the Ischigualasto Provincial Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, known as Valle de la Luna and El Leoncito National Park, where there is an observatory that allows you to enjoy wonderful views nights and learn about the universe. It is one of the purest skies in the southern hemisphere. You can also practice Carrovelismo in the Calingasta Valley on a white plain 12 km long by 4 km wide. It is a beautiful province to visit with many activities and beautiful landscapes. Enjoy. Cheers
