A hotel owner that actually wants to improve instead of arguing and making excuses. It’s a miracle 🙏- and Alex looks great!

He set out to rescue a local landmark with much love. And he achieved a huge amount. All credit for his successes. Hope he has recovered his losses by now

What a breath of fresh air Sean is, willing and keen to learn from Alex. Shame his family members are taking advantage.

“It’s like brushing your teeth and think you can be a dentist”! Brilliant! Love Alex

What a nice man who was open to change. He must have been a successful builder to have been able to buy the hotel. Getting family to work for him was a different matter.

The NEW owner is Robin Collins. I'm sad to see that Sean sold the hotel. The new owners really improved even better than what Alex did which surprised me. It looks even more gorgeous now.

I come from St Mawes, Cornwall. We have The Tresanton Hotel. A hotel owned and run by Olga Polizzi.
It is in a magnificent location. Even if I do say so myself!
You can base yourselves in St Mawes and visit hotels that you have seen featured in The Hotel Inspector!
We have the classic problem of summer business being the majority of our trade in St Mawes, with the winter being; somewhat slow...
When Olga first came here, there were a lot of doubts. But she has embraced the locals and we all enjoy having a cheeky dinner at the Tresanton (or a pint....or two). She recommends other places in the village and where to find local produce etc, what to do that will enhance your stay plus bringing in money for the locals.

Alex is correct in that it should be a symbiotic relationship.

Even though Sean eventually sold the hotel, I think he should be commended for saving it at a crucial time. Whatever it is today, he played a significant part in getting it there.

I work with builders, good, efficient builders. If this video never mentioned he was a builder, as they went through the place I would have guessed that he was one and probably a good one. Managing time, materials, subcontractors, and workers is key to a successful project, but you usually don't have occupants in the way. If you do, you manage that project differently, still with time, materials, workers, etc. juggled efficiently. You can't do that with paying overnight guests or with "volunteer" workers! The whole approach and mindset is completely different; there is a human connection issue at the top of the list. I love that he loves the place and is saving it; the architecture and grounds are lovely. As a hotel, it's first and foremost about the people, not the place. I hope the venture is successful.

Such a nice man and humble enough to see his mistakes, Alex does it again.

I love this show, but I’m frustrated that there’s never any follow up long term. I’ve gone to Hotel booking sites to see if they are still in business and/ or if it has new ownership. It would make it much more satisfying to watch in my opinion.
