Hi dfaik, to answer your questions, the kit does not require a special outlet it just needs to be dedicated, in other words nothing else can be plugged into the same out let. This is a pretty awesome idea. So you can start by purchasing just the main unit, and plug in the "Add-On" units (up to 5 extra) as needed and each increasing your power by 216w for each extra panel. They are kinda pricey, but simple to use.

I'm not 100% clear. Is that outdoor socket a special one? Or can plug and play solar panels just plug into any socket? Are they just pushing the electricity in where we usually pull it out? Thanks for explaining.

So after you plug it into the outlet, it puts energy inside instead of taking it? I am confused because this is new to me. Or are there any outlets on the solar that we can then plug in power cords into?

this is perfect to save on electricity and piss off the association. put this in your yard without their approval. what can they do to you? you can always move it.
