Trust me, the oblong wood cases are the best - I had my violin fall out of a car, going a decent speed without me noticing. It ended up sitting in the rain for at least a half hour before I picked it up. Was still in perfect condition.

This may just be me but I feel the wood one is the coolsest looking... probably because my mom has one and I grew up with that.
