Arc Fault Breaker Repair

DISCLAIMER: This is for ENTERTAINMENT purposes only. This is NOT a tutorial. I feel like an idiot having to say that but because of how many dumb people there are out there it needs to be said. You fiddle with your breaker panel and burn your house down (or any other consequence, positive or negative), that's on you. If you swap out a breaker and burn your house down, or you discover a worm hole to another dimension and the NSA wants to buy your property for a Zillion dollars, both results are your own responsibility.

Arc Fault breakers can be really annoying, especially when they're improperly installed and start nuisance tripping as they age. This one is only 5 years old. I've already swapped out a few others in this panel.

My feeling exactly. GFCI circuits have issues also. Harmonic distortion can cause them to trip. NEC requires them everywhere now. I refuse to have them on my freezer, refrigerator, sump pump, sewage pump and other critical devices.

They trip sometimes when something with motor is plugged in. My guess is when there's considerate sparks fly between rotor and brushes (brushless motors shouldn't have that issue I think). In one one of my jobs it would trim while I run table say on that line but only when enough sparks were produced by motor. Definitely not a smart idea for disposal which has such motor, I think they should have used GFCI breaker instead and even that is probably not required.
