Hankook | Dynapro AT2 Extreme Tire Review

This review is all about the Hankook Dynapro AT2 Extreme. Hankook has worked hard to imorive on this design from the Dynapro AT2. The Dynapro AT2 Extreme replaces the Dynapro AT2 in Hankook's lineup, and it's a nice improvement. Hankook uses a proprietary compound formulated to improve fuel economy, and provide cut and chip resistance on rough and gravel surfaces. Time will tell if this is a decent tire, I'm not a huge Hankook fan, but their quality and engineering keep imoriving, so they're definitely a manufacturer on the rise.

The AT2 are the OEM tires on my Nissan Frontier PRO-4X. I've been very impressed with them, and they have lasted for 60k miles. I'm considering buying the AT2 Extreme when these need replacing. I'm impressed with their ride and durability.

Like most guys out there, I've had everything - BFG, Toyo, Nitto, Falken, etc. - and the most recent pair of Hankook AT2 in the previous RF11 generation. They were possibly the best all around AT tire I've used. Smooth and quiet on the highway, great on trails and in the snow, and very durable and stable. I'll be trying these new AT2 Extreme very soon.

They're becoming a powerhouse IMO. I worked at a tire shop about 20 years ago and 80+% of the blowouts that came in were Hankook. Today I have the OG AT2s on my SUV and looking to buy the new Xtremes for my truck because I'm so impressed with them.

I reluctantly bought a set of these for my 1- ton dually when tire inventory was low. I now have about 30000km on them and they are amazing. Great in the wet and snow, and they handle heavy loads very well.

i bought a set of the previous rf11 (not extreme) for my 2009 F150, and had a great experience. I actually put 85, 000 miles on them, and only rotated & balanced 3 times. They were great in the snow, rain, and mud. My next truck was a 2012 that had brand new toyo HTs on it, and they were terrible. basically the same truck, different tires, and a completely differe level of traction. I scrapped the toyos after just 30k miles, and I bought cheap westlakes from walmart. the hankooks had gone up to $220 each vs the westlakes at $126. Two years and 30k miles later, I can see why they were cheap. They have great traction and keep great balance, but I can see that 10, 000 more miles is all I will get. They are just too soft and wear easy. But at almost 1/2 the cost, its not really a ripoff. Now westlakes are $160 each, and hankooks are $200 each.... Plus the hankooks are a much sexier tire.
I'll be buying a set of hankooks next summer. Bet your boots.

Installed four of these on a pickup yesterday. Looked like a really nice tire. Considering some for my next tire purchase.

These are some of the best tires I have ever found for trucks and SUVs on my 2001 f350 7.3 psd they work extremely well they work great definitely better then the ko2 ride quality is excellent on the hankooks the traction is amazing considering it’s a diesel ko2 and Mitch defender couldn’t keep traction these dynapros no problem definitely worth the investment and they come with a 50, 60 mile warranty can’t beat it !!

I have regular AT2s on my 22 Frontier Pro4X and now have 52k miles. They have worn perfectly even and still have 6/32 tread. Rotated every 5K. Gonna get the Extremes next

They work in Montana blizzards, I only use 4High unless necessary which is seldom.
Highly recommend!

The ATM RF10 was my favorite and go-to tire for my customers. I didn't care for the AT2 RF11, not sure about theses Extremes.

I have their original dynapro at2. Bought in 2018 and put a little over 40, 000 miles on them so far. The sidewall is really the only beef I have. It looks like they've solved it.

From the video - that tread depth looks similar to a street performance tire!
Just not my idea of a True A/T tire.

I have the 30x9 50 r15 on my 2000 Tacoma, and I like them more than my KO 2's I replaced..

Have the at2 with 15, 000 miles.Grips well in dirt, rain and snow.Better than most ats in the mud as the tread self cleans OK.Road noise is exceptable. There is noticeable tread squirm under spirtited canyon driving like most ats.Good all round at for the money.
