BODY CAM FOOTAGE: Spokane police alert priest to fire at St. Charles Parish

According to Spokane police, Father Esteban Soler was asleep in his living quarters at the time of the fire. Officer Jones was able to wake Father Soler and get him out of the building to safety.
There was no fire damage to the church itself but smoke did enter it, a spokesperson for the Catholic Diocese of Spokane said in an email. An assessment is being done to determine what cleaning is needed before parishioners return to the building for worship. No timeline for reopening is available at this time.
Father Soler, the pastor at St. Charles, will celebrate Mass on Sunday, March 21 at 11 a.m. at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Lourdes in downtown Spokane.
