ERD Entity Relationship Diagram Cardinality Relationships Part 1 - shows the minimum and maximum cardinality relationships.
It is important that you express each entity as a singular format and not as a plural(ie. customers). The correct way to create cardinalities is to do it with "customer - a customer has 0 or many sales orders"

Thanks for this. Taking an online class and the book and powerpoint only say what the symbols mean, without any real examples. Figured it was simple, but couldn't figure out that you had to work from right to left as well. Good basic explanation which was what I needed
