Leaving the TARDIS is always a huge moment for an actor, and this lot almost wish they didn't. #DoctorWho

Christopher Eccleston is THE reason I fell in love with Doctor Who. His portrayal of The Doctor was absolutely amazing. I wish the writers would do another special including all of the new Who incarnations. Though I truly love each and every Doctor since the reboot, he will always have a special place in my heart as the one who brought me together with the mad man in a box. Yes, Christopher, you were indeed, fantastic.

Edit: I know he left with some bad blood between himself and the writers. I just wish they could resolve the issues and have him agree to come back for a special. As much as I love John Hurt, I'd much rather have seen Chris in that role the way it was supposed to be.

I am rewatching new Who and I am loving Eccleston as the 9th Doctor, his series is amazing.

If Matt Smith _had_ done another series, I think the 11th Doctor-Clara relationship would be far more popular, as for them, it is quality lacking quantity, instead of the other way.

Dr. Who is more than just a TV show, it’s a soul sharing family. Once in, no matter how big or small a person’s involvement, you are attached for life! It’s part of the overall experience. The reappearances over decades often bring tears and reconnection on many levels!

Eccleston and Piper are my favorites. They left all too soon.

Sarah Jane reminded Rose in School Reunion that companions don’t get to travel with the Doctor forever.

I believe many actors felt bland or tired with the filming and decided to leave to move on but then when they watch the final product and saw themselves making good stuff and be like "why did i quit at 1st place?"

I love Tennant. But I definitely wouldn't have been mad with another couple Eccleston series or a full series of Smith and Coleman.

I too wish we'd gotten more Christopher Eccleston. That said, we have Eccleston to thank for all the seasons we've gotten since Eccleston's, and all the great Doctors who followed. If Eccleston hadn't done such a masterful job of portraying the Doctor -- complex, capable of dealing with cosmic scale matters or the very individual and human, knocking it all out of the park -- the show would have been hobbled at a bare minimum. Every one of Eccleston's successors owes him a debt of gratitude for establishing the range to expect of the Doctor; Eccleston was a tough act to follow, but the fact that they did meant that they delivered performances to be proud of.

I dreamed of Jack Harkness, David Tenant, River Song, and Missy to be all in the same scene haha . . .

I loved both Chris Eccleston and Paul McGann's Doctors and it was a shame we didn't get more TV with them. The sixieth anniversary is coming up in 2023, so perhaps we might see them again in action (fingers crossed).

Yeah, I definitely would have liked to see more Eccleston. I mean David Tennant and Matt Smith were great, and I also really liked Capaldi, but I always thought we got short-changed on Eccleston because we only got 1 season with him.

While Tennant was terrific, Eccelston is my fave Doctor. Show was never the same after his exit. Same with Rose's departure.

Please do a "10 best companions" based on their usefulness while travelling with the Doctor or how loved by the fans they were, alternatively maybe a "10 worst companions" based on usefulness how how much fans disliked them

I miss Rose too, was sad when she finally went back to her reality when I know she wouldn’t want to be stuck with the meta-crisis doctor, it was just lacking for me. It was okay but I would have loved to see her in an extra season because she had the opportunity to travel with him again.

I can *totally* understand why Matt Smith wishes he had more time with Clara. Jenna Coleman seems truly delightful.
