Fun fact: the tall skinny tube that deploys just above the engine cowling at 00:12 with the black and white stripes on top (nicknamed a barber's pole) is a visual indication to the flight attendant at that exit that the vertical section of the slide (not visible from the doorway) has deployed successfully. If the black and white stripes are not visible from the doorway, it is to be assumed the vertical portion of the slide did not inflate and an other exit should be used.

I dont't like these kind of slides on DC-10/MD-11s. Imagine jumping over 700°C hot engine parts in an emergency - not knowing if any fuel tank or line leaking...

why they leave the engine reverser open? small pieces could fall into it and cause unknown breaks to the parts.

Did anybody give any thought that that engine will be thousands of degrees while the balloon is sitting on top of it?
