I think the bigger issue for KD was how JWill interpreted KD's words - while trying to compliment KD for being at a different level than Giannis, he also suggested that Giannis lives in KD's head rent-free; that KD was somehow awaiting and salivating for this matchup to prove a point about his skill level. That basically neutralizes the compliment JWill thought he was making.
