Riding Our Tandem Bicycle ACROSS CHINA: Behind the Scenes of 2 Months Cycling in China

We officially made it out of China and into Kazakhstan, which means....update time!!! We entered China at the Lao Cai/Hekou border from Vietnam, and 55 days of cycling later, exited through the Ruoerguosi/Korgos border into Kazakhstan. It was a crazy ride full of lots of up and downs. After 4 years of living in China and now 2 months cycling through this crazy country, we left China with what we can only describe as a love/hate relationship for the country. In this video we share all the behind the scenes details about our experience.

You guys are awesome! I am so sorry that you had bad experiences in China. I'm asian, and still when I traveled to China, they don't like me. lol. I empathize with that tho because I'd studied their history from the beginning of time. China was very powerful and could've conquered anyone if they wanted to. But it never did. It's humble that way. It fought "within" itself inhouse for many years. But never thought it "right" to take others. Its ever wanted to protect itself, even built a wall to keep the Mongolians out. The only time it "almost" fell, was when it allowed foreigners (like myself) to freely roam and trade with it. Sadly, that freedom was abused and those in high powers got tricked to get addicted to drugs and got hooked to it. At some point, it just closed all of its doors, essentially, "everybody OUT! everybody OUT!" (more like a cry out of desperation). "we are closing all doors and we can only trust ourselves ever again" ... -> that mentality of not trusting foreigners, remain in every common people. Oh ya! I totally "feel" it when I'm there. I can only imagine if I looked like you guys (that would not be fun at all). I'm so sorry, it's not you! It's their paranoia ...You are correct! The police were checking you out! It is not paranoia on your part! They stopped you to check you guys out, no questions asked! They are constantly trying to analyze what foreigners are up to and what tricks we have up our sleeves. lol. Us common people are just out to have a good time ... like "we" have any time/energy to scam people. hahaha.. we GOTz thingzzz to do man. lol

Just rode our first tandem on Cape Cod and found your channel (subscribed!). We also want to travel the world. Not sure we'd survive doing it on a tandem bike though. Major props to you both. Thanks for the frank talk and happy travels.
