I Bought AMAZON CUSTOMER RETURNS to REPAIR

preview_player
Показать описание
In this video I attempt to fix various Amazon customer returns. Some of these products are brand new, yet they are faulty...Why is that? It should be interesting to see a variety of different faults and also why new products have failed so prematurely.
Can a non professional fix it? Let's find out.

Remember that this is just for entertainment and I am not an expert in these repairs. The processes in the video may not be the best way, the correct way or the safest way to fix these things. I do love fault finding and trying to fix broken things, so I hope that comes across in these videos.
Many thanks, Vince.

About the Master Lock beach safe... it's just too funny that they took strides to improve the lock design while still leaving the hinge so vulnerable. I imagine if LPL were to drop by in the comments, he'd be pleased at you catching on to that so quickly.

About the RC clock... pretty wild if it doesn't have a "time zone adjust" feature so that it can grab the time from Frankfurt and then offset it by an hour or two in either direction for other time zones. That's how my dashcam keeps its time... It grabs the UTC time from GPS satellites and then offsets it by the appropriate amount based on the time zone I've selected in its menus (in my case, -4 or -5 for US East).

Love the way Vince talks at a quantum level to the stuff he's trying to repair 😊 " Why won't you switch-on ? " ...etc

Fan likely didn't work for the customer because they fitted the blades without that circular spring clip you found in the bag. This goes on to the middle of the fan 'hole' and makes it grip the shaft. Those motors just alter the torque they give between the 2 settings. Setting one can't overcome much air resistance of the fan so it goes slower than setting two that has more torque and therefore can spin the fan faster. With no fan you will just see max speed of the shaft on either setting. With the original slipping fan, the motor was likely flat out and the fan just slipping at a certain air resistance on both settings. Hope this helps. Love the fixes, all your stuff is great.

Regarding the little safe, that's a common method by which to crack the code. I used to collect spare parts from a particular chain of self-storage sites, and they would save up all of their combination padlocks with lost codes for me to collect and crack, I think my record was 18 during a 30 minute lunch break 😁. it was rather relaxing actually, I miss doing that.

I did laugh when Vince said about wrapping the safe around the leg of a table, not sure why that was the first option that came to mind, very easy to get the safe back off it too! 😂

Hello, just a quick tip, when doing resistance readings try not to hold both probs of your meter, you will read the resistance through your body as well as the circuit, which will throw off your readings.

As for the broken earth pin on the staple machine, after gluing stick the power supply into a double plug adapter and leave it in there. The 80p adapter, though a bit bulky, will serve as the bit you plug into the wall socket without worrying if the earth pin falls off again.

That explains it, Master Lock. I can't count how many Master Lock products have failed on me or didn't work correctly or were extremely easy to break open.

Don't worry about mistakes. This would be boring if you knew exactly what you were doing. I like the way you show your mistakes and learn from them.

Air compressor, customer might have a broken power socket or blown fuse. Never thought about it, but modern cars with extra outlets might have those limited to 5A or so, only suited for chargers. This was 10+A.

Thank you for a longer video Vince. I prefer them to the shorter videos personally. Can’t wait to watch this later!

I have many of these radio controlled clocks sold by Lidl/Aldi. They all set themselves to CET but have a feature to move the hour manually so you can have UK time. Plus it's still radio controlled as all are accurate to the second from thereon.

That clock reminds me of a weather station that Aldi sold. Same problem the time sync was using the German transmitter so always ended up having to manually change it!

Fan was missing a metal clamp that helped hold the blade on. It went over that white bit with the slot in it.❤

Hi Vince! All the best to you and your viewers and your family. In order to make the glueing more powerful try to make a mix of cigarettes ash and superglue. There are a lot of clips out there that show how it’s done and I can tell you from experience it last a lot!
