Having such a well calculated formula for applying makeup is great
I'd love to see a full look based on this concept

This is based off the zygomatic bone which is known as an anatomical landmark in portrait art. For any artists out there this is also an awesome trick for checking proportions or finding where the lips/eyes/ears are on a face :)

This method is also correct because in art we draw heads using a method called Loomis method which helps you see the planes of the face. The intersection of the contour is exactly correct. ❤

We do this when we're drawing faces actually. It's how we find where to put the cheek bones. Lol It's legit!

😂Nikki I just LOVE your sense of humor - you’re always so positive and always make me smile! When will you do a video with an older senior or mature lady (60+ yrs)?

It just makes sense to your cheekbones. It translates so hard from art. That I dont even have to think when I do my make up, which i rarely do any. but i do art everyday

As a teenager, I went to a camp for visually impaired kids. It was designed to help us do everyday things with poor to no eyesight. Putting on makeup was part of it and this technique was shown. Because you can feel where to go with the brush instead of seeing it, and therefore apply it without help. Makeup isn't my thing, but a lot of the girls were so happy to learn this.

I would love to see one side with how you normally contour vs the science way. To see how different they are.

I’m in my sixties now n makeup is totally different on older skin. I wish I knew all of these fabulous techniques when my skin was young like yours. It’s absolutely magical what you can do with makeup today.
You always look amazing and beautiful. 💝🙏🏽✨💯👍🏽

This method is also how we map eyebrows. It’s based on where your physical features are ergonomically and should fall based on your facial structure. Basically when I thread people to shape their eyebrows, fill in their eyebrows with tint or apply their makeup I see their face as a grid. This is so cool to see explained scientifically too!☺️

The line from nose to ear is called alar - tragal line. That's basically to measure the Parallelism of the maxilla (upper jaw) to the base of the skull. Which lies immediately below the prominent bony cheek area and makes it look like a perfect contour

Running a few laps and cutting back on carbs can also contour pretty effectively.

You are so adorable. I don’t even wear makeup (just some basic eyeliner and mascara) and I’m sitting here watching your videos.
