Classless inter-domain routing, otherwise known as CIDR notation is very useful to use instead of writing subnet masks in full form. CIDR is used for more than just abbreviating a subnet mask, since it is crucial in VLSM subnetting. This video just covers the basics of CIDR and how it is calculated.
