Groundbreaking Ceremony Held for Smithfield Utah Temple

Ground has been broken in Smithfield, Utah, for the Smithfield Utah Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Elder Quentin L. Cook of the Quorum of the Twelve, accompanied by fellow Apostle Elder Gary E. Stevenson, presided at the groundbreaking ceremony on June 18, 2022. Elder Stevenson conducted the event. Both Apostles are natives of Cache Valley in northern Utah, where Smithfield is located.

My ancestors, Nathan and Jane Smith, were among the first settlers in Cache County and lived in Smithfield. How grateful I am for their example of following Jesus Christ in all things. Time to make them and other pioneer ancestors proud.
