I love my proflight 2s. Work great even in noisy piston aircraft, good to hear the engine a bit and how it's doing. Like the independent ear volume on the A30s, that pretty cool.

You should do a review of the Delta Zulus as well, they have a very nice safety feature built-in them which is the CO detector. Pure genius. At that price point I think you get pretty much all the same comfort/noise reduction anyway, but if you have a feature like that built-in, for me it would be a no-brainer.

Thanks for posting this. I've been looking at investing in either a set of these the Bose ProFlights. Now I know which one I'm getting.

Great review, I was wondering why everyone was using that set, now it seems pretty obvious. Also grats on 6k subs!

Agree with some comments here.
A20 and the A30.
The A30 slightly more comfortable, but the A20 are better in all other aspects, including noise canceling.

Hey Trent, when is that flight school video that you mentioned coming? As someone who wants to do the same sort of thing, I'm very curious to hear how you did it.

How noise canceling compare to Bose qc45? I was thinking to buy A30 for my semi truck, it’s so loud around 90db all the time in cab, I’m mostly driving it off road and on private roads, but need something over my ears because old truck is so loud

I love the A20, seems there are only minor updates with the adjustable noise cancellation and different padding (memory foam now on top?) I've tried to use the A20 bluetooth for conversations on my cell phone. The Bluetooth works flawlessly connecting as a headset to my Android phone, except I get complaints the audio is not good and they have a hard time hearing what I say!?

What school are you going to? Is it SkyWest specific?

I flew with those Bose headset as well. However, my longest flight 7.5-8 hrs (with a quick fuel stop) I found that the pressure on my head from the band starts to get annoying. Also turning my head kind of abruptly “shook” the headset a bit. I ended up buying Clarity Aloft and LOVE it. In ear header and I can take one off quickly without disrupting the other side ear piece giving me a sealed quality so I can still hear the radio with absolutely clarity. All in all the long cross country is where I find the big over ear headphone to be heavy and cumbersome.

Just my two cents.

Some reviews state that controller box feels like Chinese quality compared to the previous model A20. Also clamps are supposedly so week now, that when you look down while wearing them, they literally want to fall of your head. On top of that a lot of reviews stated that there is a noticeable static you can hear while in use, and that the voice sound is so high pitched that it is actually annoying. This is all with comparison to A20’s. Now can you verify this for me please? The reason I’m asking you is because I’m on a market for a set, and so far based on all the reviews I’m strongly considering to go with A20’s.

I've only flown with non-noise cancelling headsets provided the flight school. I've been looking to buy my own headset recently and been struggling with the noise-cancelling vs non decision. Personally, I've found it really beneficial to be able to hear the engine/airflow in my training, so I was thinking non-cancelling.
U have any thoughts on this? Thanks

Do you think the Bluetooth is nice to have? What would I need it for?

Did one flight with A30, One thing i found really annoying is that if you move your jaw a bit more than usual, it will create revving/popping noise. which can be very cumber some while eating food

I had bought Dc/ Bose/lightspeed ANR, to try, And rugged, instructor series, PNR. Just returned dc’s, they might be ok in the quiet environment - my ears were ringing after 2hr flight with them. Couldn’t figure out what I was paying for with Bose, over lightspeed. Hence, still have rugged and lightspeed seems to offer great anr, out of the 3 ANR headset mentioned above. Be nice to test other ANR sets. If anyone knows of any worthy competitor….

You need to get yourself a pair of FlyingEyes glasses. I bought their sunglasses. I'm guessing you can get your prescription mounted in then.
