What are battle ratings and why do they matter?

Quick question about maps. Do the maps fit the tiers. Like for instance is Moscow/Stalingrad teirs 1-3 and Berlin teirs 4-5? Or are the maps just randomly assigned?

This update is so funny. Last night myself and three other max tier German players queued together and got into a tier 3 Stalingrad match where we absolutely waxed the enemy team.

I think the current BR system is honestly very bad, BR 1 and 4 are just therr to be ignored in favor of 2 and 5 as soon as players can and even in those BRs there is a meta that everyone will end up running very soon. BR 3 is tough on the one hand I dont want to touch it cause going up against BR 5 is nuts on the other hand it is so abusble as you can just quit all games against BR 4 and 5 and stomp BR 1 and 2 players. Overall I think this needs a lot of work to be good and I hope they work on it fast.

It’s weird that now I used my tier V gears, I didn’t get into any single Berlin map, all of them are Normandy and the entire game is CHAOS, every single player using the high power gun, and the allied tank is no way to penetrate the King tiger H unless they use the plane and explosive….map filled with King tiger😂😂

Am I the only one who doesn't care about battle ratings until I pick tanks? I can get kills with bolt actions no problem and I'm still using them in tier V.

There is a bug in the current BR match making quite rare (about 1 in 100), you could still get match into a BR V match even if ALL of your weapon are tier 2. The system may errorly match you with a BR3 up tier.

This update has reignited my love for the madsen. At its tier it feels more effective than the DP and DT and low br is so much fun atm. I think 5 different br queues with +-1 would be better, but maybe there aren't enough players for that.

the problem with the current system is battling Tier 3 with a tier 1 build is frustrating i wish it was a plus 1 or minus 1 system for BR

I’m getting kinda confused by the weird progression that I’ve been handed in my German tech tree (because I had reached level 39 in Normandy). Now, about 1/2 of the German weapons and vehicles are unlocked for me, which is fine, except it would seem that I literally can’t research any of the higher BR stuff until I research the lower BR things that come before. I fully researched the Tiger 2, only for me to hit the purchase button and it say “must receive previous rewards first”. Are you telling me I have to research the like 7 lower BR tanks that I don’t have just to be allowed to get the tiger 2? This is going to be the case for several weapons and planes too….

I’m literally going to have to spend like 40+ hours grinding the German tech tree, only to not even use 90% of what I’ve researched.

I think it'll get polished out but right now is rough, tech tree and perks are amazing, battle rating is a bit rough, T5 on US lost almost every game yesterday and had a lot of teammates report similar just steamrolled games by Ger

The matchmaking is still a huge mess though. I played multiple battles yesterday at tier 1. Yes everything was tier 1, no i did not leave a high tier gear in the lineup. And i was still put up against people who had tier 5. Very balanced. I see a lot of people complaining about this in the forums as well

Chucked together a Tier 1 Allies load out and had a good selection of games last night, had no problem fighting people with Tier 2 gear (though no access to MGs is a bit rubbish) and got Normandy, Tunisia and Pacific maps
My only real complaint is that I can't get the British squads I want any more, was only able to get 2/3s of the way through Tunisia and while there are still some British squads in the tech tree I have some strange numbers like 4 or 5 US Engineer squads but only 1 British. Some way to switch between US and British uniforms would be nice.
I presume the Italians have the same issue.

My brother and I were using all tier 3 so we can play in tier 3 maps and have a good time. So glad the game decided to put us in tier 5 to get absolutely destroyed by top tier tanks and planes

The simple fact that you cannot choose which map you play is so offputting to me. Coupled with the fact that the tier system means that you might play some units in theatres they never fought in is very immersion breaking. I will give it a few days/weeks but this might be the end of Enlisted for me.

I don't like the way they did the battle rating 3, they should've done 4 groups:
-1 and 2
-2 and 3
-3 and 4
-4 and 5
That'd be better at least imho

I'm wondering if a gear and vehicle ponts system would work instead of the tier system. So you would have a set number of points to spend on weapons, grenades and explosives, side arms and vehicles. The better the gear and/or vehicle the more expensive it is in gear score/points. So you if you want to run a whole squad with automatic weapons, explosive packs and first aid it will cost alot more than say if they were armed with rifles.
