Videos like this are why I'm super super diligent about eye protection when doing stuff in my garage. Scared straight. Also I think a lot of people conflate the use of goggles vs safety glasses. Safety glasses don't protect against chemicals as well as goggles or a face shield. Thanks @DoctorMyro.

Unfortunately Two different times for me. Once was because my brother and I were fighting over perfume. It broke and splashed into my eye. Luckily, no glass made it in the eye.
2nd was Hydrocloric Acid in science class. Yes I was wearing safety goggles but they didn't have side sheilds. My lab desk mate dropped a dropper into the beaker of acid. It splashed into my eye from the side. Teacher didn't believe me and told me to rinse it in the water fountain....when my eye was swollen and extremely red, he finally sent me to the nurse.
I still had 20/20 in that eye and better than 20/20 in the eye that never had anything splashed in it. Lol

Why not give the patient something to relax them and some pain meds. Bc whatever they splashed in is already burning, hurting and eye is already in bad shape.

Is it more comfortable than chemicals in your eyes? I’ll take the Morgan lens.

I had to have this done when I splashed etching chemicals in my eye. I was completely awake. It was not painful, just uncomfortable. But then again it wasn't glue, thank heavens.

Wait why does this need to be done awake? Can’t they do even twilight sedation?
