I used to turn on my ps2 by cutting the ribbon cable to the buttons everytime. I was 16ish and didn't know what I was doing.. but I was determined and.. it worked

Why does a simple led need a ribbon cable anyway wouldn't 2 positive and negative wires be more durable?

i had the same kind of problem with my
SAMSUNG Galaxy S21 Ultra ...
I replaced the USB-C port because "someone" had tripped on the cable while it was plugged into the wall.... I accidentally pinched the #2 antenna wire in between the plastic that covers the charging daughter board and the back cover... I only noticed because my hotspot is now limited to about 20 feet instead of the 75 -100 feet that I was used to having.... that was a real pain to have to replace it and re-glue the back cover of the device because I didn't have it perfectly in the groove while I had no way to see it as i placed the back cover back on.... I also found that if you don't stretch the connector legs a bit on your nfc receiver before you reassemble it, it won't work for tap-2-pay unless you squeeze the device while you tap it... 🤣

What are the chances that the could by the sic ships are shorted but only the apu heats up, it not be the apu? I just don’t see or read about many shorted APU’s. This will be my first.

I had a device from work inside an enclosure and the customer/installer shut a cable in the door and sure enough, the board was corroded.

Lol they tore the ribbon cable so whennu pressed on it u joined it back together to work. That console needs a new ribbon cable

Yeah I agreed with you my friend has one and about one year ps5 died last month I wouldn’t buy ps5 until it improve first .

Its not a nice design I agree but this seeems like a part that you would buy from AliExpress 10 for €10 so an easy amd cheap fix but that's not ur point.
