“Long Island’s involvement in aviation and spaceflight is a story of struggle and risk, failure, and success, by people who tried to reach as far as their imaginations and abilities would take them. But we are not at the end of our story - the history of aviation and spaceflight - in fact, we are probably still somewhere near the beginning.” – Josh Stoff, Curator, Cradle of Aviation Museum and Education Center

The Cradle of Aviation Museum in Garden City, Long Island, NY is home to over 75 air and spacecraft, from hot air balloons to a Lunar Module, chronicling 100 years of aerospace history.

This was very interesting. I've been to the museum over a dozen times since I was little and never noticed the little things like the string. It's so interesting seeing the achievements in aviation long island and it makes me pretty proud
