I'm still gathering all the materials I want before I get started painting my first miniatures but in the mean time I'm loving all your tutorials! I don't know if it's enough for a whole video but I'd love to see more on the technique for oil washes. I'm planning to follow your salamander guide as well as the Apothecary Biologis one and I'm a little nervous about the oil wash part specifically. A "Start here" or "Beginners" playlist might also be nice for grouping videos like this one, your how to prep and the beginner mistakes one for noobs like me to reference easier

Great tip about the makeup brush for dusting the minis too!

Bro your tips on the shorts have been so helpful to me! You break things down and demonstrate techniques very well! Hope you are doing well and look forward to seeing more content from you. This video came out a perfect time! I have been debating getting natural hairs and now I have more knowledge to commit to a good brush!

This is something I've been thinking about for a while. Excellent video my man, very concise and informative. Cheers!

I used one of the old blue-handled Citadel basecoat brushes for years. It was a lesson in trimming bristles towards the end of its life. Then I went to the colour-coded brushes from Citadel for some time. They still see some use for various projects. Now I mainly use W&N Series 7s - I've got from size 3 to 00, though I'm going to give the new synthetics from Citadel a try.

This was so insanely helpful. I have purchased several of the windsor brushes and found them extremely helpful in painting! Thanks again

thanks for the vid, I love the new Rosemary and Co, red dot as I didn't realise that animals are actually killed to make brushes, each to their own but when I paint I feel better knowing that I haven't harmed an animal

Great video! Thanks. I use Raphael 8404s mostly. They have a great combo of a big reservoir and a sharp tip.

As a newish mini painter I’ve been buying brushes based on what I think will be good but your opening notes on point and belly is what I didn’t realize (I got the point, not the belly) so in my next purchase I’ll look into a brush like that W&N. Thanks!

Windsor & Newton series 7 and the Squidmar brushes for my sable hair brushes. And then for cheap beater brushes I have cheap, golden taklon brushes from a hobby store

Great explanation! I've also had a good time using the Squidmar brushes.

Been using army painter brushes but like you mentioned the tip is so small that it hardly holds paint. Decided to go all in and get a Windsor and Newton today, excited to use it!

Man, just 3 words... you’re the best!

Probably the best demonstration of basic brush qualities I have seen and heard. Thank you! I find natural brushes far better than synthetics, I use both W&N and Broken Toad. Brush care really matters though.

been using the Artis Opus "M" brushes for detail/control. Its a lot easier to control a brush with a shorter bristle and thicker belly, than a longer bristle. Especially when doing detail.

The Raphael 8404's are my favourite, I find the longer bristles easier to keep the brush in decent condition
