I remember finding one of these. I was walking down a trail and the server reset.. when I logged back in, the crate loaded in a split second before the tree did and I saw it. Loot acquired 👍

In Rust, there’s an art to making bases that look like they’re already raided.
If you have trees similar to these within the radius of your flag that loot hidden near the “ruined” base lasts forever

If you stack heaps of crates in those trees, the game with lag spike in proximity. It is how we scanned for burried stashes and hidden bases over the years. Place 2x crates instead.

I found this exact stash... I walked past and felt massive lag. There was about 3 barrels and 20 crates. Easily findable.

The regular tree is good, but i often Walk Up to trees and Check for fruit to eat.

(Though that only works when they're Close to Greenhouses. Random trees don't carry fruit, usually.)

I have 4 barrels and 45 crates inside a tree right now. I love doing this it's like a hidden weapons cache. I have literally everything. To keep it more fun me and my two pals do bunker runs to Livonia get geared up and bring the loot back. I'm at the point where I offer to trade with others on the servers if I need stuff

Everyone is using this now. I have been doing this for years, in fact I firmly believe that after people started finding my 4 crates in one tree stashes about a year ago this knowledge now circulates and everyone who learns about this will actively search trees. This is the main reason I hate people who "create" "helpful" content like this. smh

Found someone's loot stash by complete luck after looking in my inventory next to one of those downed trees, like 8 crates filled with all the best gear including 8 bunker key cards lol, let's just say I bet they were disappointed when they came back to check their loot

I wish this was true, but so many people hack on official and community servers that this trick and any other trick for stashing is 100% useless. It’s a shame because otherwise I would still play this game, but loot has become useless.
