The problem is not just being able to order books in English in non-English speaking countries, but also being able to order books in OTHER languages from the same Book Depository. They had a wide-ranging selection in many languages (French, Spanish, German, Turkish, even Swedish etc.). Now that is gone and you either have to settle for Amazon or adventure yourself in the world of individual national platform that may or may not ship to your country. If you live in the EU you will have a better chance, but usually at significant shipping costs. It would probably be cheaper per item to hop on a low-cost flight, book a hotel for 2 nights and go shopping yourself.

I literally just ordered my first Blackwells (ulysses from the everyman's library) a few hours ago. You have impeccable timing.

I had the exact same problem with my order! The pages were torn precisely where yours were. However, I have not found another alternative to our greatly-missed Book Depositery, so I think I'll stick with Blackwells for now:)

I was very sad to hear that Covid cause the family that owned since it open to sell it. Also, Waterstones was the one who bought them.

I don't know, why everytime I visit Blackwell website, all the books showing "notify me" instead the price, meaning that it out of stock. But why?

:( I found Blackwell's to be incredibly slow to actually ship books, then it takes a month or more to get to me. I'm guessing they don't keep stock on hand, rather order in and drop-ship.
Did you contact them about the damage, and what resolution, if any, was offered?

Can you tell me how much your order took to arrive? I’m worried because I’m using Blackwells for the first time and I purchased a trilogy (in the same order) and the first book arrived in 2 weeks but book 2 and 3 is no where to be seen. I don’t know if I should just wait more or try to contact them.
