The federal government hires hundreds of people a day. Most of these jobs are on USAJobs and you can set your filters for salary range, location and job series. There are also telework and 100% remote work jobs. Certain federal agencies have been hiring more new employees than others and in this video I will discuss these agencies. Have you started applying to federal government jobs yet? Let me know down below.

Since applying last week on USA jobs, I currently have Eight rejections or non-referrals and I have two referrals. I have to keep going and get interviews ASAP and continue to apply..

DOD is a good place to start for a Federal career. Seen people from my agency move onto highly sought after agencies (HHS, USMS, etc). DOD has given me more training in 1 years time than I've gotten at any other job. You're right about the insulation from politics, DOD seems to have focus on other things. One thing I would recommend to people starting out is do 3 years at least in competitive service (to get permanent status), and then think about jobs in excepted service if the opportunity is better. Sometimes a persons time in excepted service will not carry over and count as competitive service time.

Great job covering a lot of material. You could make a separate video regarding SL, ST, and HQE opportunities. 👍🏿

great channel and great content. Can you accept 2 TJO's from the same agency? That's my situation now. Oh, spot on regarding DHS expo in VA in June. Many people were offered jobs on the spot.

I'm a GS15/SES level, Schedule A candidate w/ nearly 25 yrs exp. Using the 2210 example from your website, my resume is barely under 5 pages and doesn't include all my relevant experience. I tailor my resumes to the duties and quals, and have a 50%+ referral rate, but no interviews. If I had federal experience I'd have a much higher referral rate. Recommendations?

If you were previously competitive service and took a VSIP deal, can you still go back and apply for competitive jobs? Or, do you have to apply to “open to the public” only? Thanks so much!

My names initials are SES, so if I used a monogram on my resume would that be acceptable?

Can't wait to join the DoD through the Air Force/Space Force and take my interview later in the month. I cannot wait to leave Homeland Security for that. I feel like it is a better fit for my skillset.

You don't have to keep applying. Opm has your resume. If they want you, they'll call you.
