Video Content (transcription):

Learn how to say wine words in English, French, Spanish, German, Italian, and many other languages with Julien Miquel and his pronunciation tutorials! In the world of words and the diversity of accents and local dialects, some words can be extremely hard to pronounce. We are looking at how to pronounce this phrase or expression borrowed from French. In French, it literally means or would translate as ‘WRONG STEP’, Faux behind French for Wrong or False and a Pas is a step, understand: ‘making a wrong move’. In English it is defined as an embarrassing or tactless act or remark in a social situation. So how do you go about pronouncing it. In French, we would say Faux Pas. Faux Pas. But in English or American, it is generally pronounced as Faux Pas. Faux Pas. Faux. Pas. Like ‘he committed a Faux Pas’. Faux Pas.

Julien’s instructional and educational videos make pronunciation easier as I detail the correct pronunciation as native French speaker but also fluent speaker of French, English, Spanish and Italian.

I should definitely learn French at this point, both my English and Spanish (native) are pretty fluent.

Gosh thank you for the post. I believe nobody writers (everyday posted, like me) who have no such schooling screw up entire cell blocks. What the hell do they hear when reading? I don't know. That's why I love picture books and magazines in print. I know what I wish I had when I see it. Cheers too much!
