Love the 5:30ish part of the video. Orla skipping about in the background then disappears and a club head appears in the bay behind Finoula. It's the love and time for your family that I admire the most about you Mark.

Really enjoy the family interaction and the down to earth way you present golf lessons and information on golf clubs. Keep up the great work Mark!

I've never come across a situation like Spieth's, either personally or even heard of it but believe that I got the gist. Unplayable ball is usually taken as a two club drop with penalty but can also be taken as a drop as far back as you choose as long as you keep a line between the drop, the original lie and the flag. In Spieth's case this meant that he could drop in amongst the tour vans (for some sneaky Titleist advertising) and once the ball had been dropped there it was in play with a penalty from the unplayable. He was then able to drop again away from the tour vans without penalty as he gets relief from them as they wouldn't normally be there. This drop is the nearest point if relief no nearer the hole which meant a nice clean lie in the driving range which is not out of bounds and have him a good position to play his third from.

The spirit if the game element is always an interesting argument as surely the rules of the game preside over everything which is why they are there. I believe that most golfers sniff at the rules as being an inconvenience when getting a good grasp would actually benefit most players in competitive situations. I constantly play with golfers that will be standing in casual water when it's wet and playing out of a dodgy lie or playing three off the tee for a water hazard when a yellow or red stake drop would gain them lots of yards, simple examples of how knowing the rules can improve your chances of shooting a lower score.

I think it's Spieth's manner that people may not like. If it was Seve we'd unanimously be in awe of his genius and flair but because Spieth is quite a ruthless competitor he goes in the same pot as Faldo, Linekar, Froome, Tiger, etc. In this country we love a Gazza, Wiggins or Seve as it's all about entertaining while you win, not just winning.

Spieth took an unplayable, presumably due to the deep rough/steep slope. From this he could go back on a line with the flag as far as he wanted. The practice area was in bounds so he dropped there. Then his line of sight was impeded by the tour trucks. He dropped to the right of the tour trucks (nearest point with full relief I presume?). All of this was with a rules official on hand answering questions. Where is the problem?

A very intelligent drop that possibly saved him the Open. Perfectly within the rules!

Jordan's drops were really pretty standard stuff to anyone who has bothered to read the ROG a few of times (unfortunately once is not enough). Hats off to Jordan for having such a good command of his options under the rules.

I have no issue with the drop well within the rules of play. It did take a while but if I was doing it it would have taken longer probably. Loving the daily vlogs

Nice to see someone rocking ping i3+ blades. Still haven't found a club worthy of replacing them.

I'm a daily vlog addict, thanks Mark. But I hope you are having a break from it for the 2 weeks holiday with your family. Maybe Lockey could do the daily vlogs whilst you have a well earned rest.

Hey Mark. I watch your videos every day. Great stuff. Course vlogs are great entertainment. Would like to hear your comments about grips and why you might choose a tacky grip vs say tour velvet. Cheers bruh!!!
